These values stand apart from the graphic value of a letter as discussed in the "Grapheme" article. In this article "grapheme" keeps re-appearing as a synonym for letter. Writing a letter or talking

A couple of months ago, I saw a movie with the Boy where the two main characters spoke to each other via hand written notes exchanged in the lunch box that was delivered to the wrong person accidentally.

It got me thinking that how simple life was before we were bombarded with every possible application reminding us to talk to people across the world. The Boy also mentioned a couple of emotions that come with the joy of letter writing which in turn has got me to type pen!

With both my best friends living half way across the world, I thought I would write letters to each of them but the procrastinator that I am, I ended up writing emails to both of them.

Before I begin my rant on the various emotions mentioned in the emails, let me jot down why writing is better than most of the other forms of communication.

The ability to pen down your thoughts in a systematic manner to get the message across to the other person.

You only have words to write. No stupid emoticons to express your feelings. After all, words once said cannot be taken back.

While both, T and S, were over joyed on receiving my random emails, their replies definitely made my day. I kept smiling like an idiot while traveling home almost behaving that I have a secret that no one else knows about. While I would like to say that our email writing will definitely continue for a long time to come, Whatsapp does make it difficult if not impossible to do so.

Where there is a will, there is a way! And I plan on writing to them on a regular basis just so that I revel in the joy of receiving a reply. Hopefully, even write a letter and post it to them.
